XPS 15 9520 Automatically Powers On With Lid Open?

I notice after I power off the xps 15 9520 and close the lid.  Every single time I open the lid, my xps laptop powers on.  Why in the world does it do that?  Is this some feature it has and if so, how do you turn this off?

If so, why would they make this be default?  Who wants their computer to power on by that?  If you are carrying the laptop in a bag or anything and it turns on, obviously that isn't good.  I mean that is what the power button is for.  Are all dell xps 15 9520 laptops like this by default?  Are all xps laptops like this now?  I can't imagine more people prefer this?

1. The Lid-Switch option is in the Power-Management section of the BIOS. I suggest you download and read the laptop's PDF Service-Manual (it documents all BIOS options).

2. You will have to ask them.

3. I would not think so. AFAIK, it's just about pressing the Power-Button or not.

You can turn that off in the BIOS.

It seems like a good idea at first, but I'm always afraid it's going to open slightly in the laptop-bag ... so I turn it off.

How do i turn this off in bios?  Do almost everyone turns this off?

Does it matter that bitlocker is already enabled before i go to bios or it doesn't matter?  Do i need to turn this off first?  I want to set up bitlocker like with windows 10 pro on windows 11 pro on this laptop but seem like bitlocker is already enabled but not the way I want it.  I only enter the local account password I created and logs in... as oppose t requiring a bitlocker pin... then the windows local account password?

Hi.  Where is the power management section?  So can I turn this off without going to the bios?

Sorry, the option is in the BIOS.

If you don't feel comfortable going into the BIOS by yourself, you can call Dell's Technical Support and they will be glad to assist you.

I did not go to BIOS to make this change and using my laptop as is.  There is nothing wrong with this as most people probably keep it like this as default right?  Your battery doesn't wear out though when it is shut down and like this right?  When I shut down... it is shut down right and not like a modern standby?  Each time I press shut down, it shut down and I close the lid.

Then when I open laptop, I open lid, then dell logo shows and ask me for my bitlocker pin and then my windows password.  So that mean it is shut down properly right?  Otherwise it wouldn't ask me for bitlocker pin?

Can anyone here confirm going to BIOS is the only way to prevent this opening the lid to turning on your laptop?  So you can't go to windows settings anywhere to change this?  I am hesistant to go to BIOS so that is why I ask this.  Also... why does the power button by default go to sleep as oppose to shut down?  Do most of you change that at least?
