XPS 13 headset jack not working - Wave-max pro not getting installed

XPS 13 9305

XPS 13 9305

Hello!

This issue with the headset jack of the XPS not working is nothing new to this community.

I checked the forum and tried solutions that worked for others; in particular, I tried this one: Solved: XPS 13 9310 headphone jack not working - Dell Community

However, after unstalling wave-max pro I'm not able to re-install it. I start the installation, it opens the prompt of commands saying it is installing the app, but the installation fails all the time. And just updating the Realtek drivers didn't do any good.

So, any suggestion on how to get wave max pro back and solve the headset jack issue in any other way? I run on Windows 11, the headset has never worked from the laptop jack, but they work from the docking station...

Thank you!

I have eventually chatted with the Dell support for the last hour, and even though the Wave-max app doesn't open, it's still somewhere, and by allowing it to start at start-up, the headphones work. This whole system is weird, but the problem is solved for me...

You might check your apps listings and see if Waves MaxxAudioPro is already installed.  If so, run it.

There may be an icon in the hidden icons on the Taskbar.

If you don't have a direct download for it from Dell, you might try uninstalling the Realtek audio and reinstalling.  Perhaps, it will be reinstalled that way.

Different systems seem to handle it in different ways.

I had the exact same issue. The variation on my fix was that the WaveMaxx app was already 'enabled' in Task Manager/Startup, so I disabled it and then enabled it again and the headphone jack now works.
