My Dell XPS 15 9520 won't start up. Flashes 4, 3 code.

When it powers up, it shows Dell logo for about 30-45 seconds, then goes black screen for about 5 seconds, then flash a full white screen follows with Dell logo again for a bout 15 seconds, then goes black screen permanently. After that, LED flashes 4 amber and 3 white error code. I've checked Dell's website to see what that code means, but they don't have such error code definition . anyone have any idea please?

Hi

On the Dell XPS 15 9520, the diagnostic LED error code 4 amber (orange) and 3 white flashes indicates a Memory (RAM) failure according to Dell’s official XPS diagnostic code list and user reports.

I agree about the lack of an error code definition on the support page.

So without corroboration, it may not be as listed above.

It is a power rail failure -- you need a replacement system board.

@anne_droid I have the same problem and light code, but it works on external screen.

If there is Ram failure, it will not work !

Problem fixed. It was the faulty display cable that connects the screen and the motherboard.
