Dell xps 9530 (2023) touchpad sometimes slow down and have acceleration
Hello,
I have issue straight out the box, that xps 15 touchpad sometimes feel fast and smooth (accurate) and sometimes are slow, inaccurate and have some acceleration (for example when i move cursor quickly mouse starts moving with a little delay and stops moving with inertia). I didn't find any working solution at this time, so is someone have same issue and somehow find the fix?
For me it seems that issue somehow related with gestures that have some smoothing so laptop somehow thinks that it is still doing some gestures, but i'm not 100 sure with that it is my guess.
EDIT: After further inspection i believe that issue is somehow related to keyboard, because if I didn't use keyboard until the backlight shuts down automatically and then try to use touchpad it seems working fine for few minutes and if I repeat same procedure when i feel that touchpad slowed down again it again works fine.
System info: XPS 15 2023 with i7, 32 GB ram, oled screen.
OS: Windows 11 pro with latest updates
Drivers: everything is up to date according to dell software
Bios: Up to date
Touchpad drivers: Up to date, but windows does show that drivers are microsoft and date is 2006 (i guess because it uses windows precision drivers)

Hi All,
Please update the BIOS to latest 1.9.0 from drivers page here and check if it resolves the issue or not.

I’m having this same exact issue on my dell xps 15 2023. I’ve tried everything to try and fix it and nothing resolves this. Not sure what needs to be done.

Hello,
I have Dell XPS 9500 and was experiencing the same issue. I updated BIOS and installed other updates that Dell website recommended and so far it seems that the issue is fixed.
Thanks a lot!

@Abid3971 Dell service replaced touchpad. It is hardware problem, not software

@Tommy.Mav in my case if it's a hardware problem it wouldn't get fixed itself by closing and opening the lid temporaliry
