bios very briefly shows battery installed

Hi,

I replaced my old battery with this one: https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B0829YR3Z4
But it is not recognized in windows. In the bios it says "battery not installed"
Both batteries have the exact same format, type, wattage so it should definitely be compatible.

The weird thing is, sometimes it flickers to "installed" as you can see in this video: https://studio.youtube.com/video/MUjJnnM5-tQ/edit

I already tried multiple solutions like

- update the bios and all drivers
- disconnect adapter & battery, hold power button 15 seconds, wait 2 minutes, plug battery and adapter back in
- enable / disable / remove the battery in device manager and reboot
- the cable of the battery is firmly attached

Is the battery faulty, or can I try something else?

I bought another one (also non-OEM because of large price difference). This one did work.

Return the battery and get an official OEM replacement would be my advice.

@d5123101 is spot on. With a non Dell genuine battery it is hit and miss if it will be recognized by the system, generally a miss. The genuine Dell OEM battery is available at Parts-People here. And I believe they ship worldwide.

concur.  use only genuine Dell battery.  The Dell charging circuit design has become more advanced and “smart”, thus rejecting non-Dell battery.  This is unlike the old days when a cheaper non-Dell would work.
