XPS 8960, audio issue

I have exactly the same audio problems. My system is only 2 months old. How did you fix the audio issue?

Be better to describe your audio issue in detail here.  The thread that's linked describes lots of odd issues and it's hard to know what your issue is.

Be sure to mention if you're using RealTek Audio with external speakers or audio over HDMI with speakers built into a monitor.

Is Waves MaxxAudio Pro software installed and loading at every boot? Did you configure Waves for your setup?

I have a XP8960 that I moved to from an old XPS system. The audio output is connected to a logitech Z-5500. I never had any issues with the old XPS system. After moving to the new XPS 8960, I will intermittently lose sound completely and then randomly it will come back up again. Now, the logitech center console just turns itself off. This system had another issue with waking up from sleep mode. That was fixed by support.

Any ideas on what I may be able to do to resolve this audio issue?

Thanks!

@cmp2go  - How is Output set on the Windows Sound screen? Should be set to RealTek.

Is Waves MaxxAudio Pro software loading at every boot? Was Waves configured correctly for your Z-5500 setup?

Power PC off normally and disconnect all speakers from PC. Then power on and connect L/R front speakers to PC inputs. Waves should pop up and ask what you connected. Select best option from the Waves drop-down menu. Then plug in L/R rear and wait for Waves... Continue connecting speaker pairs, one at a time, if any, and and wait for Waves. Plug subwoofer in last.

Now open Waves Control Panel and click Playback box. Move the Equalizer slider to On. Click ? to left of the slider to see what the controls do.  Look down in middle of Waves screen and make sure it's sees the right configuration, or change it there.

If that doesn't help, you could disable RealTek Audio in Device Manager and/or disable Waves  and try using Windows Audio...
