XPS 8950, Generic Software Component?
XPS 8950
Hello,
I have a listing in DM (Device Manager) called "Generic Software Component". I have been conditioned to believe that most entries in DM are pretty specific with their naming. So "generic software" brought about my question. The pictures attached provide more details regarding what this entry is and related to.
Is this entry normal for a Dell XPS 8950? I have looked up the driver entry in Google machine and got very little help. I think it is related to Intel Management Engine as that name is in one of the entry properties pages (see pictures). Should I leave it alone? No problems with the PC as far as I know, other than I can't access the Intel ME app. It is not listed in Windows start. Any information regarding this entry are appreciated.

Not sure what it is but I have an entry in software components that says that too. I wouldn't worry about it.

marked as a solution, but I assume it is part of the mysterious Intel Management Engine as it has swc/intel something in the description of the "component' in device manager.
Does anyuone have any specific as to what this Generic Software Component is?
Thanks again...
