XPS 8930, BIOS boot issue

Hello

I read the support article how to change the boot to boot to DVD the 'add to' option stated is not in the BIOS.

Capture shots attached.

I have an formatted hard drive I want to install Windows 11 on to do so I need the DVD to be recognized upon turning on the computer.

Let me know how to fix BIOS to do this task.

Thanks

To install Windows 11 on your XPS 8930, go to BIOS settings and set boot mode to UEFI, enable Secure Boot, and TPM.

With UEFI boot mode ON and Secure Boot ON (for TPM to work), you can not set DVD boot with Legacy Boot.  Therefore, other proper way for Windows 11 installation is from a USB.  Go to Microsoft site https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and select Create Windows 11 Installation Media and follow instruction to create a Windows 11 installation USB.  With the USB installer ready and connected to your XPS 8930, select F12 at boot for one time boot menu and you will see the USB as a selectable boot option.

agree with Chino.
to add a few comments:
1. a bootable Windows 11 disc must be loaded already in the dvd drive before power on pc

Press F12 to see if a UEFI>dvd shows up in bootable device list

2. in some older Dell, the dvd may be blocked by secure boot option enabled, in that case usb boot is the only option left.
