XPS 8700, HDD self test error 2000-0142
XPS 8700
Diagnosis : ePSA 4228.6 BIOS A14 ERROR CODE: 2000-0142 VALIDATION 118624
Msg: Hard Drive 0-S/N Z1D4JZA9, Short self test unsuccessful.
Please help. Thank you

The hard drive has failed -- you need a new drive. It might be a good time to upgrade to a 2.5" SATA SSD.
