Studio XPS 435 MT, CPU change, no post
I have a 15 year old Studio XPS 435MT. I did a processor replacement and the power button is a solid amber and there’s nothing on the screen. I put my old processor in and it posted, but it didn’t post with the new one I bought.

the 435mt bios is limited in the sense that it would not support gulftown class cpu (6 core). Dell has not updated 435mt bios to support 6 core. If you tried to install a 6 core core cpu or equivalent Xeon, you would expect no post naturally.
user validated cpu for 435mt
its bigger cousin 435T aka 9000 or 9100 has a bios to support 6 core cpu for x58 chipset.

It's impossible to answer without knowing what CPU you tried to install, but that's a good indication that whatever it was, it's either incompatible with the system, or it's damaged or otherwise faulty.

@ejn63 I currently have a Intel I7 920, tried to put a incompatible Xeon in it. I don't need this anymore but thanks
