Command Update v4.6 wants to install v5.0 (incompatible)?
I have Dell Command Update v4.6 installed on my XPS8930. It wants to install v5.0 of Command Update, however that version is incompatible with my system (according to Dell documentation). Is there a way to fix this issue? Is there a way to notify Dell of this problem?

Dell has just released v5.1.0 of Command Update (Oct 31, 2023) and this version does list the XPS89XX series as compatible. Problem solved!

I have an XPS8930 and Command Update 5.0.0 installed without any issues at all. My configuration is what was sold through Costco.

If you click on the link that redxps630 left in the post above, none of the XPS89XX systems are included in the "compatible systems" section. The reason that I started looking at this was that Command Update v5.0.0 had been installed, and although it somewhat worked, it was acting very strange. When I checked the documentation, I noticed that the XPS8930 was not on the list of compatible systems.
I re-installed version 4.6 which is the one recommended by Dell for the XPS8930 system. It works fine, but every time it runs, it wants to install Command Update v5.0.0.
Version 5 installed fine, but it did not act correctly. After installing an update it would abort instead of telling me that it installed correctly, and frequently, it would tell me that it was already busy performing an operation, when it should have been idle.

Could be the compatibility list for v5 is incorrect since v5 is offered for the XPS 8930 on its own support page.
EDIT:
The version 5.0.0 file listed on the page linked above is:
Dell-Command-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_1WR6C_WIN_5.0.0_A00.EXE
Fixes and Enhancements:
- Added support to provide updates for the Trusted Device category
- Improved defer updates workflow during conference calls
- Enhanced the user interface experience during low-bandwidth operations.
- Enhanced telemetry event logging mechanism
- Improved capability to detect conference calls when connected through a Bluetooth audio device
- Enhanced administrative template feature to configure recurrence patterns
- Improved consistency for connections through custom proxy configuration
The version 5.0.0 file listed on the XPS 8930 support page is:
Dell-Update-Windows-Universal-Application_RVGVG_WIN_5.0.0_A00.EXE
Fixes and Enhancements:
- Added support to provide updates for the Trusted Device category
- Enhanced the user interface experience during low-bandwidth operations.
- Improved capability to detect conference calls when connected through a Bluetooth audio device
The file names and Fixes/Enhancements are different, so it's possible only the version listed on the XPS 8930 support page works on this and other XPS desktop models, while the one linked above doesn't work on XPS desktops.
I pinged my Dell tech contacts for clarification...
