Is Wyse ThinOS virtual machine exist ?
Hi,
We have to manage Wyse ThinOS for many users but we don't have one in our services.
Do you know if there is a way to get Wyse ThinOS in a virtual machine ? Hyperv, Virtualbox, Vmware, ...
I can't test my settings configuration and modification by myself, i should call users to verify if the WMS option that i changed is the good one or not. And if the WMS is not available (from their home) i have to guide them by phone to check option or take others actions...
Thanks,
Franck.

Ok, it's a pity.
Thanks for your answer.

Have to agree this would be incredibly helpful. Could test changes, train helpdesk etc without a piece of hardware being tied up or having to be sitting running in a lab somewhere. Wouldnt mind if it was limited in some way or had to license from Dell so that only a limited number could be run. But it would be very helpful to those of us that support these devices.

Googled Wyse Thin Win 10 IoT VM and landed here. Need to train helpdesk on setting up sysprep and registering the client on WMS. Having ThinOS on VM would be super helpful!

While there isn't a VM option for ThinOS or Win10IOT I will share a couple of ideas that may help you.
1) When showing a device from boot to registration I like to leverage a video capture device, https://www.visiontek.com/products/uvc-hd60-capture-card-1080p?variant=40553090711701 This allows you stream the video output of the thin nclient either live, or capture it into an application
2) Wyse Converter for PC's (WC4PC). https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/wyse-converter-pc/drivers This software allows you to "Convert" a windows PC to emulate a Win10IOt thin client and in theory could be run as a VM *Though I have not tried this". With recent changes to licensing for WMS a seperate license for WC4PC it will consume an existing thinn client device license from WMS pro. One tip, after installing WC4PC, install the latest WDA agent https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=59drg&oscode=naa&productcode=wyse-wms or you will run into registration problems with WMS.
Best of luck
