XPS 8940 - No Windows 11 Upgrade Offer Yet?

Hi,

I don't think I know anyone with a Windows 11-compatible machine who hasn't received the Windows 11 upgrade at this point. Yet, I'm still not be offered it on my XPS 8940.

Is there a reason for this? Does it have to do with NVMe drive incompatibility or poor performance with Windows 11 (as I've read in other places)?

Thanks for any insight.

MS has stated that they are releasing the update in stages and some users may not see it until mid 2022. However if you want to install Windows 11 you do not have to wait. Go to this page and since you want the update version choose the first option (Windows Installation Assistant) and you will be updated to Windows 11. The second option on the page is to create a media creation tool very similar to Windows 10 tool.

Hi,

I'm afraid that solution does not work, at least not for me. The Windows Installation Assistant option insists that I will lose my apps. The best I can do is keep my personal files. People who get the update via Windows Update can upgrade their computers without losing (having to reinstall) all their applications. In my case at least, the Assistant has greyed out the Keep Apps and Files option.
