Problems restoring the Dell Windows 10 recovery image after drive failure

Hi,

The 2.5" 1TB Seagate ST1000LM035 drive that came with my Dell Inspiron 5570 died. So I bought a replacement Crucial MX500 1TB drive and fitted it into the computer. It is visible in the bios.

I then used the Service Tag to download the recovery tool and used it to create the recovery image on a USB flash drive and after rebooting the laptop and entering using the F12 key, I booted from the USB Flash. I tried to 'Reset' the image which seemed to work.

The problem is that at the end, the computer reboots, and then I get the error below.

I'm quite confused as to what to do. Is the problem due to the fact that the recovery image is expecting the Seagate drive? I dont have any installation media to factory install WIndows 10.

How to fix the problem please?

Thanks,

iq

I tried numerous times to download and install the Recovery OS (with SupportAssist and standalone)  from the Dell support site. Kept crashing. Wasted 3/4 of the day yesterday. I again tried another couple of times today and then gave up.

I then used the Microsoft MediaCreationTool to create a flash drive with the complete Windows 10 from Microsoft and used that to install. Everything worked the first time! I then installed Support Assist and used it to scan, download and install the relevant drivers.
