Moving from Optiplex 3020 to Optiplex 7070 with Acronis Universal Restore?
Anyone have any experience with this?
Going to try restoring backup from an Optiplex 3020 to an Optiplex 7070 & looking to get my drivers folder together for the bootable media...

FYI, since the 3020 was still running I just ran the full PC backup, restored it to the 7070 & everything worked like a charm!

I’ve done similar hardware migrations before, and moving from an Optiplex 3020 to a 7070 with Acronis Universal Restore should generally work if the storage controller and chipset drivers are prepared correctly. The biggest issues usually come from missing Intel RST/storage drivers, network adapters, or TPM/Secure Boot differences between generations. Having a complete driver pack ready on the bootable media is definitely the smart move. I’d also recommend updating the BIOS on the 7070 before restoring and checking whether the source system was using Legacy BIOS or UEFI, since mismatches there can cause boot problems. Universal Restore usually handles HAL differences pretty well overall.
