Dell Digital Delivery windows cannot access error
Not sure if this is right board...if not, let me know and i'll repost.
I recently started getting windows error messages popping up, where multiple messages (up to 5 or 6) display same info then eventually disappear.
I get a "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file" error window. it shows a path of
c:\program files\windowsapps\DellInc.DellDigitalDelivery_4.0.36.0_x64_htrsf667h5kn2\Win...but doesn't display the rest.
I am not able to access that folder, even with admin privileges.
I have uninstalled and stopped any 'dell delivery' apps. I don't see anything in the windows logs to give me a clue (although I'm not an expert in the logs, but nothing jumps out).
1. What is kicking this off so I can kill the app or process OR
2. What can be uninstalled to stop it?

Apparently the Dell Registration application was the culprit. Once I removed it from my system, the popup errors stopped.

Are you still getting those error messages after disabling all "Dell delivery" apps?
Do you have Dell SupportAssist running in the background? That might trigger attempts to use Dell Digital Delivery...

RoHe-thanks for responding...
I've actually tried uninstalling all the Dell items...Dell Digital Delivery, SupportAssist, Dell Help etc.
What is interesting is DellDelivery somehow is getting re-installed. I thought I had read that if you purchase an app through Dell, DellDelivery installs it. But, other than the various apps that came installed (and I've now removed), I didn't get any other apps that I'm aware of. It almost seems that something is either running and want to update and makes a call to DellDelivery to install it.
I did track the appearance of the messages, where I get 5 or 6 of the errors popping up sequentially and then disappearing. They seem to fire off about every 15 minutes or so. I looked at scheduled tasks, and there isn't one for Dell. I browsed other scheduled tasks and nothing that runs every 15 minutes, looked at some (under Microsoft items) list 'various triggers' but nothing that looked like it would be trying to install something and n
However, if I watch the task manager as these are firing off, no app is active that seems a likely suspect. If I sort by CPU time, again, nothing seems to pop up that seems out of the ordinary.
I did remove the DellDelivery app again this morning, and also the Dell Registration application...for better or worse since it's out of warranty so why not. Since I did that, I haven't received the pop up's since so perhaps that was it. Odd that it just started recently though. I will restart and post up if that took care of it.

Several different malware masquerade as Dell software.
