Can I stop or remove dell instrumentation. It's hogging all my memory
I'm trying to find out if I can switch off Dell Instrumentation and other system running files. They are hogging my memory a lot. My system is no longer eligible for support, but the product is only a few years old and has plenty of life left.

These Dell processes/services all appear to be part of Dell SupportAssist or possibly other Dell-branded utilities. At any rate, I uninstalled SupportAssist and all the Dell services on my system, including Dell Instrumentation, went away. You can certainly live without SupportAssist, though you may want to check the support site occasionally for recommended driver updates.

Hi all,
As per Dell engineers:
"Yes, users can remove Dell Instrumentation. Dell systems support an OS install without added software apps from Dell. In this case it is recommended the user make sure their system has the latest drivers, BIOS, and Intel Processor Power Management Package on applicable systems."

Dell Instrumentation it's a service on Windows, along with a few other services that I'd like to disable.

Instrumentation?
Which apps or services are causing the load on your computer?
What model computer?
How much RAM?
Do you have a hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SDD)?

You can safely disable those, though of course you'd lose their functionality.
The screenshot you posted doesn't show them using much memory.

Thank you. The amount it uses changes, but with 100 services running already, removing these is just part of a bigger mission to reduce unnecessary services. It's not just these. thanks

A perfect example of just how much system resources they hog!

So weird!
it started to drink my memory only today. And the warranty should expire in a few days

Users seem much more worried about this than they need to be. Most of these programs are dormant most of the time, so they get offloaded to secondary storage and (mainly) stay there while the system does more urgent work. If your performance isn't affected, enjoy the added functionality and don't worry.

Yes. Thanks for your image illustrating it more precisely and for the Kudos. Are you finding speed improvements on your system now?
