WSM Streaming Applications
1. When will device-assigned streaming applications, instead of user-assigned streaming applications be available? I have been waiting for this feature since before Dell acquired Wyse.

Hello,
Prior versions of WSM used application streaming whereas the newer versions use application layering which is completely different. In previous versions, you could use a generic user account and have an application streamed to it on multiple devices, but with the newer application layering, this is not possible as the application is more closely tied to the user account.
If you have additional WSM questions please create a new post on the Wyse WSM forum located here:

Hi,
Why don't use the vWorkspace Application Publishing feature..? Just publish the App, install AppPortal in the VDI Machine in Desktop integrated Mode, enable Login Cache credentials feature in the connector where the user is assigned. And make the AppPortal to load in the Startup.. the moment a user logged in, he/she will only select Inside/Outside. Since you are going to use a VDI Machine, just configure on Location (Inside) and select not to prompt the user for any location selection.
I'm using this method for couple of clients and it works great.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Hussain

While your response may be viable, it is not what I am looking to do.
1. Adds more overhead to my servers
2. Adds complexity as I do not know vWorkspace well, we are pure WSM
3. The functionality was taken away with WSM upgrades
4. The functionality was promised 3 versions ago, before Dell acquired Wyse
I should be able to stream applications based on device. WSM already knows the MAC address of every device it is streaming. Isn't an MAC address just as unique as a User Account, if not more so? Or device groups, server groups, there are so many options. Yet, all that works now is a 1-to-1, 1 user 1 application. As far as I can tell, vWorkspace has no Virtualization within it but WSM. Everything else it does is manage other virtualization solutions, VMWare, App-V, etc. Since WSM is the only thing it does natively, having a more functional Application solution would be great.
