Local and Remote Taskbar
Hi,
i was wondering if there is any oppertunity to set the display resolution for all connections to, let say 95 % of the screen?
the goal is that the user can see the local taskbar under his connection to virtual desktop at any workstation.
So it would be great if we can set the resolution, that it fill the whole screen but withoiut the local Taskabr.
I neither found any option in web access config or xml file.
Is that possible ?
Thanks,
Attiq

As far as I can see, there is no way of doing this through vworkspace.
However, how often do users really change their resolution (I guess if they are all laptop users who also have a docking station this could happen a fair bit) so you just need to let them know that if they are using Resolution X, set the Webaccess custom resolution to Y
If you're using AppPortal, you could have a VBscript that checks the resolution (maybe at boot) and then sets the 90% resolution in the registry.
I did spot something in the websettings called 85 but I haven't looked into what that is controlling yet. Who knows, they may have sneaked in the exact thing you're after...but I doubt we're that lucky!
Thanks.

Hello,
If you edit the screensize in the Registry you have direct control over the exact size of the RDP window.
On your client,
Open regedit and navigate to your farm.
Eg: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Provision Networks\Provision-IT Client\Server Farms\Farm1
Edit the regkeys DesktopWidth and DesktopHeight
To get what your asking for, on my 1680x1050 monitor, I found that setting it to 1660 x 970 was pretty much spot on (You could tune it by a further few pixels if you're really bothered)
This becomes harder if people have different monitors/resolutions.
Oh, by the way, if you change the setting in the registry this will only be read when you reopen AppPortal so make sure you close and reopen to test every change.
You can then use the "Export" feature of AppPortal to create the XML file for you if you wish to deploy this to other servers.
This works in WebAccess too. You can set a Custom Resolution and you can use a User Override to allow them to change this.
Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew,
thanks for this.
But the problem is when the user changes his monitor screen. And then the resolution is also changed and he has to modify this again.
I was looking for a settings which says for example: For all connections use 90 % of the display…
Thanks,
Attiq
