keyboard desconfiguration

I'm using Thinshell installed in Windows 7 and I connect in my Windows 7 VDI. Sometimes (8 or 10 times per day) the keyboard doesn't work properly, operates as if the "shift" key was pressed down.

When that is happening, if I disconnect the session  and reconnect, everythink starts to work ok again.

Could you help me?

We have been having this problem and wtih the help of support have tracked the issue down to Flash redirection.

If you turn off the EOP option it no longer happens.

Hi Andrew

Today i have made some tests.

Client ist 8, pntools 8

I have keyboard to remote computer and Flash Redirect ON. (That's the way i like to have it)

Until i visit a website with flash, everything work fine. After i looked a video on youtube, its finish with using caps. i have to disconnect and reconnect.

Both workaround resolves the problem, disable flash or setting keyboard to local.

Im sure we had the same with 7.6 and 7.6

later i will make some tests with an old client 7.2 or 7.5, i tell you my results.

I have the same problem when in the app portal client the following option is set:

apply windows key combinations: on the remote computer or in full screen mode only

with the setting "on the local computer" the problem does not exist.

also i think different client hardware types have influence

what client types you are using?

Hello Carlos and Marc,

We used to get a report of this maybe once every 2 years, if that. This issue has suddenly started happening a lot more frequently since RDP8 was released.

It would be really helpful if you could confirm if RDP8 is installed on your machines where you see this issue.

For now, Marc's workaround is the best option.

If we can track down the combination that causes this issue (I believe RDP8 + some hardware type as it doesn't happen on all RDP8 boxes) I can log it with the vWorkspace development team to see if we can combat the problem.

However, I should note that there are a fair few results on the net from non-vworkspace people so we might have to see if MS want to fix it.

Thanks for raising this, Andrew.

Hi Andrew

About RDP Versions i can say following:

The problem exists with rdp7 client and vworkspace 7.6 and 8

The problem exists with rdp8 client and vworkspace 8

All our clients are thinclients with Windows 7 Embedded SP1

And also i think that i have more troubles with a HP T610 than a T510, so i think there is a hardware influence. But for beeing sure i have to investigate more.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the feedback.

If you get time. When you find a machine where you can always reproduce this issue. Please can you

1. Uninstall the current vWorkspace Connector and reboot

2. Install the 7.2 or 7.5 Connector and reboot

3. Test again to see if you no longer get the issue even with the keyboard ket combinations settings set to "On remote computer"

That would be great - I don't get the issue here otherwise I'd do the test myself

Thanks, Andrew.

Thanks Lost - I had one other case where turning off Flash EOP fixed it but we found setting the keyboard to Local fixed it for them too.

Can you let me know if both fixes worked for you or if only turning off flash worked?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew

Today i take some time for tests with client 7.2

With apply windows key combination on, i cannot use shift to write capital letters.

With only flas redirect enabled it works good until i use the flash redirection, from then some keboard inputs go anywhere...
