defining connection parameters on AppPortal at an application level

Hi,

Currently running 7.1MR1

I have a question as to how i can set the colour depth, bandwidth usage etc for a particular desktop application currently deployed.

If this is done via the config.xml does this affect every other application assigned. I come from a citrix environment where this was all available for customisation but cannot work out how to do this automatically.

Have over 200 desktops which need configuring, and dont fancy doing that manually!

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard,

Your last response was correct, you would be required to make the changes in the same way you suggested.

If you have groups of users that require different settings then you can create and publish multiple config.xml files and direct the client computer to the appropriate one, using a registry modification.

Hi Richard,

You can the specify the connection properties that you mention, colour depth, resolution and connection type (bandwidth usage) etc.. These can be set per client but not per individual published application so a client would always connect using the same settings that you defined in the client config.

The config.xml file can be used to deploy these settings to your desktops without the need to visit each one and manually configure.

Ok David,

So on that basis then, if a config file was configured to use one setting eg. colour depth '16' and i want it to use '15' then there are two options for me.

1: Update the config file and then get the client to 'reload' from AppPortal

or

2: Update the AppPortal client manually.

Sorry if i'm re-wording your response, but want to be sure before I start going down the route of issuing out a script to the helpdesk.

Many thanks
Richard
