Application isolation question/issue
Hi all,
I have some issues about creating a pit file. And the question is, is this the right way to do it?
I installed some software at a server in my domain, this server is NO RDS server. the software on this server must be isolated (It cannot be packeged :-()
Now I want to start this software at my RDS server.
So i try to create a pit file, but after setting the connectivity settings i get a timeout.... used this instuctions: https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL84248
What is the best way to isolate a peace of software?

Sander, the .pit file is simply a text file that contains information for a vWorkspace Connector to establish a connection to a published application or desktop. And the application you wish to execute must be installed on a RDSH server or VDI instance. Based on the information in your post above, including application virtualization is not an option, there are two ways to isolate the application
1. Silo it on a single RDSH server, or group of RDSH servers, and publish it to your users.
2. Install it on a win7 desktop group in the vWorkspace farm and publish it to yours users on your RDSH servers ( this is commonly called a double hop scenario)
Hope that helps,
