Android Keyboard not functioning - any help gratefully received

I have just purchased an asus TF700 for home and to use for work.  Really pleased with the product,

I access the work desk top with vQuest software, the desk top came up no problem but the dock keyboard didn't respond, at least the numbers responded and came up on screen, the mouse worked but all the letters are dead, ie press a letter nothing on screen.  When undocked the screen keyboard comes up and works fine.  Any one know if I can fix this myself or is a central fix needed?  The OS is Android ice scream sandwich.

cheers

Hi Gary,

Is that through a Website? Through Webaccess, you can't set that setting so I have previous logged it as a defect. The defect id is 280761.

In the meantime, the workaround is to connect through the vworkspace app itself.

Your Admins can enable access directly through the vWorkspace app. If they do that, the keyboard option will work (And they can still set it to use an RSA token)

They may have enabled this already so it's worth asking them how to add and configure the farm through the App.

Thanks, Andrew

thanks for the response Andrew, but i am being a bit slow.  Do you mean the settings in the vQuest app, or on the Android system itself? in vQuest i have settings but the options are about wall paper and there is no option to scroll down to find anything else such as keyboard.  Glad to know there is a solution. phew

Hi Gary,

In the Android App, Edit the settings for your connection.

Scroll down to the bottom and you'll see Keyboard Settings.

Turn on Advanced Input and it should fix the problem.

Enjoy

Thanks, Andrew.

P.S that is a scary OS name.

Hi Gary,

In the vWorkspace App, touch the vworkspace icon in the top left hand corner.

This allows you to edit your settings for your connections by hitting the arrow next to the connection name.

Here is the setting screen.

Thanks, Andrew.

Thanks Andrew, found it and ticked the box but the keyboard remains the same.  I access the work desktop through an 'RSA' token and although I checked the box as you describe it didn't translate to the screen.  I will seek help from work.  Thanks for your time any other ideas though mucho appreciated.

Cheers Gary
