How can I find what version of VPLEX im running, and is the software underpinning this referred to as geo - synchrony, as ive seen the term use inter-changedly in the environment im taking over.
Many Thanks

Hi,
Once you are logged into the management server and get into 'vplexcli' you can type the command "version" and it will display the GeoSynchrony version you are looking for:

Hi
To get version use version or version -a
To actually understand which version that corresponds to -- go to

Apologies forgot to add the full name of the software vplex runs is
EMC VPLEX GeoSynchrony - hence its referred to by many different flavours
In vplex you have three choices
VPLEX local - within a DC only one VPLEX device is configured
VPLEX Metro - a Clustered VPLEX in sync replication
VPLEX GE - a Clusteed VPLEX in ASYNC replication
The version of which you can find by using the command version -a or logging into the GUI and clicking on the VPLEX in question
From this page you can determine if the vplex is a LOCAL, METRO or GEO-SYNC
Hope this helps any additional questions let me know
Regards,
Tadhg
