Steps to go from VPLEX metro to VPLEX local
He Guys,
I have a running SQL cluster in one datacenter, which has been given Vplex Metro volumes, now the request is to transform these volumes to Vplex Local volumes ( as there is no requirment for Metro Volumes ).
- Can this be done on the fly ( without losing the data )
- Which steps are needed.
Thanks,
Ferry

Followed steps below, to go from vplex metro to vplex local
1: Distributed Storage -> remove Lun from Consistency Group
2: Cluster 1 & Cluster 2 -> remove Lun form Storage View
3: Distributed Storage -> Delete Lun from Virtual Volumes ( status Unexported )
4: Distributed Storage - > Distributed devices -> Select Devices and Delete !
5: Cluster 2: ( depend on local storage site)
Devices: -> Create Virtual Volumes
Add: (select device from Available devices )
6: Cluster 2 -> Storage View : Add Virtual Volume to Storage View
7: Rescan Disk on Host / Put disk Online in Disk Management

Accomplished on the fly no data loss
Detach one leg of the Distributed Device using the "device detach-mirror" command
Step Two:
Collapse the remaining Top Level device with the "device collapse" command
