penter,

Uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers in the system.  You can click here to download the drivers.

Earlier, plug-in headphone would popup Maxx Audio Pro by default. It's not happening now and I am not seeing headphone as output anywhere. @Anonymous

penter,

Try the steps below to see if that will resolve the issue.

1. Right-click the Speaker/sound device icon in the Systray and select 'Open Sound Settings' or go Windows Start button>System>Sounds.

2. Under 'Output' (Speaker/headphones(Realtek....) select 'Device Properties'.

3. Scroll down and under 'Related Settings' select 'Additional Device Properties'.

4. Under 'Jack information' you will probably see only one entry 'LR Analogue Jack'. We will change settings so that you also see 'LR Front panel 3.5mm Jack'.

4. Click the 'Advanced' tab. Under Exclusive mode, Deselect: 'Allow apps to take exclusive control of this device.'

5. You can leave or select Hardware acceleration and Enable audio enhancement options, they do not affect the issue we are resolving here.

6. Click 'OK'. Close the Settings/Devices window. You may need to restart your machine.

penter,

Please connect to Dell Support assist on the programs menu on your computer.  The program resolves issues found in your computer.  Also, are you able to connect to any sites on your computer?

If needed follow the steps below.

1.  SupportAssist Installation
  1. Visit Dell.com/Support/SupportAssist.
  2. Scroll down to the Get Started.
  3. In Managing Personal Devices, click Download SupportAssist for PCs and Tablets.
  4. A pop-up is displayed.
  5. Click Run.
  6. SupportAssist is installed.
  7. Press the Windows logo key and open the SupportAssist application.

If you need to install support assist click here.

Yeah, those two links provided by @DELL-Jesse L  leads to a generic page.
