Replacement Battery for Inspiron 17 5749 Laptop
The old battery for my laptop was XCMRD 4 cell 14.8v, 40wh; It died, I tried to buy the same, but was given a MR90Y 4 cell 14.8v, 37wh. It installed fine, but when I turn on the laptop, it has a warning: "This battery is not recommended for this system, the system will be unable to charge this battery. Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility". The battery was charged to 100% despite the warning. I updated the BIO, did the diagnostic checks, restarted the laptop. But the same warning shows up every time I started the laptop. Is it safe to continue to use this battery? How do I get rid of the warning? Thanks.

If the replacement battery is third-party, purchase and OEM unit.
