Maximum Ram Supported by 14" New Dell Vostro 3400 laptop
Hi
I am planning to get the 14" New Dell Vostro 3400 with 11th Gen i5, 8GB RAM and 512 SSD pre installed with Ubuntu.
About the RAM the website says -> It says 8GB, 8Gx1, DDR4, 2666MHz
One question I have which is not clarified in the dell.com website is about RAM.
1. Is there slot available to add additional 8GB RAM?
2. What is the max RAM supported on the New Dell Vostro
Answer to these questions will help me finalize this laptop purchase.

Hi ejn63
Thank you very much. This document / spec I was not able to find earlier. I will write to the Dell sales team with this link and get clarification on finding if the specs are different in India?
Thanks again.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Pepazdepa
As per the CPU specs 32GB should be no problem.
Best regards,

But I think max 16MB are declared (tested and recommend) by Dell. In my opinion there is a possibility to put more RAM inside. Im I right? I have old Vostro with declared max 8MB RAM, but I am running on 16MB RAM without problems.

There are 2 SODIMM slots and each can take 4GB, 8GB or 16GB, but bizarrely the Vostro 3400 user manual specs say the maximum total is 16GB, and these are the supported configurations: 1x4GB, 2x4GB,1x8GB, 1x8GB+1x4GB, 2x8GB, 1x16GB. It doesn't show any supported configurations above 16GB total.
However, be assured I've just added a 16GB module in the second slot in my 3400 alongside the original 8GB and it works just fine. So I now have 24GB (1x8GB+1x16GB) even though the manual doesn't say it is a supported configuration.
I suspect it will also work with 2x16GB, but I don't have another module to try at the moment.
