I want to upgrade my Dell vostro 3578 TN panel to IPS panel

Hi everyone,

I bought Dell Vostro 3578 15-inch laptop 3 years ago. I am happy with its performance, durability and rigid. But now, I am planning to upgrade the display for more colour accuracy for my graphic design job, as it came with a TN with a 30-pin connector panel display, colour/brightness fades away at different viewing angles. I hope IPS panels have better viewing angles and colour depth.

Please kindly suggest to me if this model is compatible with IPS panels and its availability and cost. And does this model is compatible with higher resolution panel

Thank you!

NT156FHM-N41 is a common Full HD screen and is fully upgradeable to IPS. Any 30-pin 359mm (360mm) wide screen like NV156FHM-N42 is compatible.

NT156FHM-T00 has integrated touchscreen functionality and is Dell specific. I have not seen IPS upgrade option for it.

Notebooks are limited to those displays shipped with them from the factory.  Other displays may not work completely, or may not work at all.  Once place you can check to see if there's an IPS screen option is parts-people.com (use your service tag).

Also note that if the system is under warranty, replacing the screen will void the remaining warranty on the system.

Tien Anh, it is good idea to upgrade your screen. It is better for your eyes if you spent long time with the laptop.

First you need to discover the exact model of your current screen, and then search for a compatible upgrade. Look at this instruction how to disassemble the display and discover the panel's model.

You have almost 100% chance of success.

I will be keeping an eye on the topic and advise you of compatible options when you publish you current screen's model.

Hello ilian359
Thank you for helping me with this problem. I've just searched my laptop screen's model and it's named NT156FHM. But I found out a new problem that there are two "sub-model" of NT156FHM: NT156FHM-N41 and NT156FHM-T00. I don't know which one is the correct model for my laptop. Would you mind helping me with that
