I have Dell Vostro 5515 but no sound.
Hi,
I have Dell Vostro 5515 but no sound. I install the official sound drivers but the headphones and speakers are working. I tried reinstall the drivers but again no sound

I had installed all the programs for my work.
I could not wait for your answer and after the reset the sound was ok. I wasted a lot of time looking for solutions and finally resetting (and reinstalling all the programs) worked the sound.

An alternative way to check if sound is output would be using the HDMI video out, HDMI also transfers sound. In case you have hooked up your notebook to a HDMI capable monitor that does not have built-in speakers, you would not hear sound. You can check and test the sound output also using Windows sound settings. You can also select what available sound device is used for input and output.
Also if you have the possibility, try to attach an USB headset and see if you can hear sound over the USB headset.
Sound and notebook can be a bit tricky especially if you use a monitor with HDMI out that does not have built-in speakers. But if you check Windows Sound Settings, you should at least be able to see what is recognized by Windows and you can also test sound output using these settings.
