Dell Vostro 5471 PCIe Version

Hi Guys, I want to upgrade my M.2 Sata SSD to M.2 NVME, but I am not sure which PCIe version is supported for the Dell Vostro 5471 laptop, whether PCIe x3 or x4.

I have checked in the BIOS, it only shows "M.2 PCIe SSD-0".

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, an NVMe drive will still be appreciably faster.

It is PCIe 3, but likely in GT2 mode (hardwired) so you'll see about half the speed of a PCIe 3 drive.

@ejn63 ah I see, is it still better to use a PCIe 3 drive (NVME) than Sata drive ?
