Dell Vostro 470 Windows 11

Hi all,

I was wondering whether you could help. Is it possible to make a Dell Vostro 470 compatible with Windows 11? My Dell Vostro 470 does not currently support TPM and was wondering whether adding a TPM chip to the motherboard would help validate the compatibility of Windows 11 in order to use it on my Dell Vostro 470. Your help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

RocknRollTim

Even if you could add TPM the system is approximately 10 years old and at best has a 3rd generation Intel CPU. At this point in time nothing older than an 8th generation CPU will be supported. Now possibly the requirements may change but not far enough to include such an old CPU. But never say never though at this point MS has not shown that it will support old CPU based systems.

@JOcean Thank you for getting back to me, I will continue to use Windows 10 for the time being until Microsoft has updated the system requirements for Windows 11. I read the same for the system requirements when looking through various web pages online but was not 100% sure whether I understood correctly. Thank you for clearing this up for me.

Hello,

I think it's time to say good bye forever to your Dell Vostro 470 it's not more suitable for any new Windows.

Even for windows 10-64 bits it's no going well.
To update the BIOS for this Vostro 470 is not possible anymore.

Best advise for you: buy a new one Dell PC with the correct windows 11 requirements.
