VNXe LDAP Auth

Hey All,

I'm working with a VNXe3150! Software Version: 2.4.2.21519

First off! We recently upgraded the Firmware on it, and it has since "broke" HA on it. Having it failover in a time of 10 minutes PLUS... Apparently a hotfix for us is due shortly, which isn't a great start to my company using this product...

Secondly, How come I can't SSH directly using Putty? I get the login prompt, but no matter which account I enter (admin, root, sysadmin, nasadmin, etc.) they all fail to log me in! I know I'm putting the right password in since I can have no problems accessing the service section within Unisphere (GUI). SSH is enabled in Unisphere...

Third, which the topic is based on. I set all the LDAP requirements under System > Settings > More Conf > Directory Services.
I fill in all required Info, I click Test LDAP settings > Success
Create users under the Manage Administrators > Finds LDAP account specified and state given admin roles to LDAP account..

CAN NOT LOG IN USING LDAP ACCOUNT....

Now I've tried domain\user... user@domain... Nothing works, ideas?

Hi Zewwy,

I will take a crack at your #2 question.

Log in to Unisphere, and click the settings tab at the top > select "Service System" > Log in with your admin password.

You should see "Enable SSH" under Service Actions > Highlight Enable SSH and select "Execute service action"

In regards to LDAP, are you sure the LDAP string is correct?

Regards,

Andrew

Hahaha, oh man the only two things I didn't try service for user name suring SSH session, and trying a forward slash... both worked! thanks so much for your reply.

We have a patch rolled out today for our HA issue from support. Things are looking up..

Now I just wished they made it easier to implement using your own certificates from your own CA to be used for the SSL of Unisphere login...
