VNX5500-maximum disk array enclosures per BE?
Hi All,
We have VNX 5500(Unified) Box. Please clarify the following.
1. How many back end ports available by default?
2. What is the maximum disk array enclosures per BE we can connect? like NetApp, we can connect six disk shelves per loop.

1.Two SAS port per SP. 6Gb x 4 lane.
2.VNX5500 supported 250 disk, half of them per bus (BE port pair). it`s 8x3,5`` DAE or 5x2,5`` DAE.
3.If you have a lot of Flash drives, distribute it between buses.

No – max number of DAE’s per bus is 10
Why would you want to cable it that unbalanced ?
Please see the hardware & installation guides on support.emc.com or mydocs.emc.com/VNX

Hi,
"max number of DAE’s per bus is 10"
Is it applicable only for VNX5500 or all VNX models?
