Performance Hit if 1 SPS failed ?
Hi,
We are running VNX5100 and 1 SPS failed.
We would like to know whether the failure of a single SPS (Another one is still functioning) will cause any performance hit ? Will the WRITE CACHE be disabled ?
Thanks

Please take a look at KB Atricle:
VNX: What conditions can cause write cache to become disabled? https://support.emc.com/kb/331603

Hi TonyJK,
Performance is only dependent on write cache. You also should look at your SP utilization. Be sure that the box can function one just 1 SP.
If both SP's are utilized more than 50% each you will get are performance impact when 1 SP fails.

Hi,
From that document, my understanding is WRITE CACHE will not be disabled and thus there should not be performance degradation for the SAN. Is my understanding correct ?
Thanks again.
