New to CEE - could use some clarifications

Hi!

I'm new to CEE and EMC in general. But I've been reading up on the docs and have some questions I hope you'll help me with. Also, please be patient- the questions are probably wrongly wording and so on. But! EMC is a really cool tech and I want to learn it.

  1. Is there a CEE for Linux? According to this: docu52828_Common-Event-Enabler-6.3.1.0-Release-Notes.pdf there should be. Namely the kit EMC_CEE_6.1.x.tar for SUSE. But I can't find on the support site for download. Also, I think there's a typo in the filename.
  2. Basically I need 3 servers/things in the setup?
    1. Machine that I want to be event enabled. I have a VNX Control Station (NAS 7.1.65). This is a separate machine/server (in my case running) under VMWare
    2. A machine running CEE/CEPA.
    3. A machine that does whatever with the events. In my case an application that looks for certain events from my Control Station.
  3. The machine 2.2 is basically a broker? It receives messages from 2.1 and serves them to 2.3?
  4. The machine 2.1 has to be configured to send events to 2.2? And that is done via cepp.conf?

Regards and thanks in advance!

1.  For VNX there is only a Windows CEE Version - CEE for Linux currently only covers Isilon

2. CEE/CEPA can run on the same machine as your application

3.  yes

4.  yes

No Events found!
