Migrating AD users to the VNX Quotas
hi,
I have move the file server to the VNX CIFS , I need to import the users from the AD to the Filer user Quotas so that i can set the User Quotas for them from the VNX itself.

we tried mapping the share to the windows 7 machine, rightclick on the shares and import Quotas.
we did an export of the Quotas on the original shares the same way

There is no tool to import or migrate quotas from a Windows server. However, you can create a new default quota for all users, then set individual quotas for users who don't meet the defaults. Have a look at the EMC document, Using Quotas on VNX. This covers the basics of settings quotas.
Let us know if this helps!

You need to create new quota’s on the VNX

Rainer is 100% correct - you cannot "transfer" quotas, you will need to create new quotas on the destination VNX. I highly recommend setting default user quotas, then overriding them for users that need more data than the default. It's super-easy to do.
