HP Blade server not showing Expanded LUN
I have a VNX 5600 and I expanded a LUN but the server doesn't not show the change. I have refreshed and rescan disk in disk management. Never had this issue with other servers. This is the first time I have tried expanded LUN for the HP Blade BL460c server. Anyone recommend anything? I looked on the blade administration page but nothing stands out. I wasn't sure if something additional needs to be done when expanding a LUN for a blade server.
Thanks,

Brett accidentally stripped too much off that URL.

I just tried expanding a LUN on a different server in the same blade chassis and it was successful. Not sure why the LUN will not expand for other server.

I'm sorry if you already did this, but I would suggest checking the config from the ground up to ensure there was no confusion and you didn't expand a LUN assigned to a different (possibly similarly named) server. I always rely on WWN's or IQN's and track those from known sources, (i.e. zoning configs, hardware monitors, etc.) and verify that there wasn't a previous mistake that is causing your current situation.
Other than that, as you already have proved with your other response, there is nothing technically different with those types of servers that would cause this. A rescan is all you should need to see the expanded disk.

Yes, I have confirmed the correct LUN was expanded. I am going to restart the server tonight and see if that helps resolve the issue.

The LUN I expanded has RecoverPoint host attached as well. The is the first time I have expanded a LUN which has RecoverPoint attached. Is this why the drive is not expanding on the server?

Yes, when expanding RecoverPoint LUNs there is a process to follow.
You have two options, Dynamic or Non-Dynamic LUN resizing. Where possible use Dnnamic so that only a short init is required, and not a full sweep.
Grab the full details from the Administrator's guide.

Thanks Brett. That was the fix.
