Difference between VNX 5200 initialization by Unispehere and Navisphere

Hi all,

I have a question, what is difference between unitialization of VNX by Navisphere and Unisphere ?

Because I have initialized our VNX 5200 by Navisphere and I am not sure about that.

Thank you,

Martin K.

It should be the same process - discover un-initialized array, allow you to set IP addresses and account names. I've never tried using the Navisphere tool for the VNX, but it probably will work. If you've already used it to setup the array and the array is running fine it should be OK.

I am sorry, there should be "difference between INItialization"

Are you referring to the Initial Initialization you use when setting up a new array? The VNX series uses Unisphere for the GUI and some of the other tools, but some tools are still called "Navispherer" - for example, the CLI is still called "Navisphere CLI" and the Host Agent is still using the Navisphere name. So it depends on what you are actually trying to do. Is there a specific tool that you're referring to? What is the name of the tool?

It was initial initialization of new VNX 5200 block array. Name of the tool used for initialization was: Navisphere Storage System Initialization Wizard. And I should use Unisphere Storage System Initialization Wizrad. And the question is if there is difference related to initialization. If initialization mean only setting of IP adressess and login/password then it should be same. But I am not sure.
