Analyzer does not collect and show any DATA

I have a VNX5300 with Analyzer enabled. I enable the Performance DATA logging but not DATA and graph show on the window.

What could be the issue and how can be resolved ?

We checked the system and statistics logging has been disabled after a OE update process. No is running.

Hello,

Depending on whether you want to check real-time graphs, or view performance archives (.nar files) covering a particular period of time, the steps are different.

You can find all the information you need in this article: https://support.emc.com/kb/332387 (How to health check VNX Block performance).

  • For real-time graphs, say you have set the Real Time Interval (under Performance Data Logging) to 120 seconds; this means you can open 'Performance Detail', select a component like a LUN or disk, select an attribute to monitor like Total Throughput, then wait. Every 2 minutes, you should see the graph populate with a new data point.

  • To view data archives, you need to have enabled Periodic Archiving (under Performance Data Logging). This will automatically create a new .nar file every 155 polls (a poll is determined by the Archive Interval setting). Head to 'Retrieve Archive', save a file to your PC (or create a new file manually), then head to 'Open Archive'.

I wait about 10 minutes. no graph show. The issue is that also no performance DATA shown in VNX Monitoring & Reporting Software. I mean that VNX can't collect and show the perf DATA.

Do you leave the window open for a while first? open performance detail, and leave it open for 3-5 minutes to see a graph. (points should start showing up after 1 minute). Or does nothing appear no matter how long you wait?

The analyzer is enabled and also in real time the time is set to 60s. but no graphs shown in performance detail window.

Any idea ?

Hmm, might need to reset data logging or restart management servers. Cannot be sure without logs or at least some CLI outputs. I'd recommend creating a Service Request with these details, and new SP Collects.

Otherwise, you could get the output of the Navisphere CLI command:

- naviseccli -h -user -password -scope 0 analyzer -get
