Adding Capacity To CIFS Share Via GUI?
I have a Unified VNX5300 that is running both Block and File capacity. I am running out of capacity in a CIFS share. I have added new disks to the array and added them to the storage pool supporting the File environment. When looking at the Storage Pools For File I see that there is additional capacity now available there.
Now here is where I am getting confused. Where do I add additional capacity to the CIFS share that is running out of capacity. I see that there are volumes that are assigned to the share and I "assume" that this is where the capacity available is coming from (is that correct?).
So...can anyone help...how do I create a new volume and add it to/expand the CIFS share? Can this all be done through Unisphere?
Or...am I over complicating this? Should I just use the simple CLI command: nas_fs -xtend ufs5 size=1G pool=clar_r5_performance

Hello,
Once you have the additional capacity showing in the storage pool for file, you will NOT need to create volumes and all kind of these things since it has been done already and automatically by the storage system OE.
All of what you need to do :
Go to Unisphere -> Hover Over the "Storage" Tab -> Under Storage Configuration select File Systems -> Click on the file system (for the corresponding CIFS share you want to extend) -> click on extend and follow the wizard in the pop up window
