(4600)Access is denied to setstats. called by 'Monitoring' from
Hi there,
I just wonder some events from the SP-Logs:
11/04/2016 14:00:29 N/A (4600)Access is denied to setstats. called by 'Monitoring' from '10.X.Y.Z'
- the IP above ist from my M&R-Server
- "Moitoring"-User is listed for every system as the manuel says 'operator' is ok
- when I check setstats with 'Monitoring'-User i get an error:
[nasadmin@DEFR2-VNX-A-CS0 ~]$ /nas/sbin/naviseccli -h SPA -User Monitoring -Scope 0 setstats
Enter password:
Error returned from the Management Server on SPA .
User ' Navi User Monitoring' has been denied access to this operation because of security role privilege violation. <<
I wonder whether hounderes of Errors per day are normal in that logs or should i change to user?
Thank you all very much.
Best Felix

Ok, unfortunately no further details out of the SR:
"The log entries can be ignored as Information only."
I am still wondering about these load of entries, but it seems it works as designed.
Thanks everybody.

Hello Felix,
basically setstats is used for switching on and off Statistic Logging. For me the behaviour looks kind of normal because i wouldn't allow an Operatur User also to switch on and off statistics logging. As you mention that this is from your M&R server my guess that M&R calls frequently setstats using the Operator User "Monitor". I don't know what calls setstats exactly but this is the direction i would go for. And yes, Rainer is right, i would open a SR to clarify if this is a misbehaviour or configurational problem in M&R
Greetings
Manuel

Hi all,
thanks for your reply. As you said, I did open a SR. I will keep you about the outcome informed.
Best,
Felix
