Is Dell really able to detect malware on our computers and do they actually call people about it?
I've been receiving calls from (888) 272-2357 and (866) 795-5597 (latter number is actual Dell support) almost daily. I answered the first time and fended them off because I was at work. Afterwards I did a quick Google search and discovered that it was a possible scam. Is this still true? I saw the sticky in the forum, but the link it provides is broken. Could someone please clarify? I am also suspicious because I do full scans every night with Malwarebytes and nothing ever shows up...

Any "cold-call" you receive from DeLL, Microsoft, your ISP, or any other party claiming that they were monitoring your computer usage and discovered a virus/malware, is a SCAM. Just hang-up on them, and forget about it.

No, they do not access your computer and check for malware. Dell Security is aware of the problem, but unless YOU call Dell Tech support do not believe them.
