Reporting on Allocated space for VMs
Our Foglight guys are trying to create a report (preferably a spreadsheet) that simply lists VMs and the total space allocated to each. They are having a tough time locating that particular metric in the list. I'm not sure if it's buried, if we're just not looking in the right place, or if it doesn't exist at all. Can anyone offer any guidance? I just find it hard to believe it just isn't something that can be reported on.

Not sure, but that is 'logical' drive space vs. VMDK size. The data points for VMDK sizes are in there as well, but not on that report. It would most likely be a drag and drop report to show those sizes.

The report you want is 'Virtual Machines Configurations' It will give you a bit more detail than you need, but the storage details are all there.

Thanks Thomas. That seems to give me the same numbers we were seeing earlier. Storage Used, Storage Available, and Total. The issue I'm seeing is total isn't adding up to what is actually allocated to the VM. No matter which report I run, I get a total of 167.4GB (107GB Used, 60GB available) from Foglight. The VM has 123GB and 57GB VMDKs so I should see 180GB. I do show that 180GB consitently for this VM when I report with other tools/scripts.
Do you have any theories on the discrepency?
