Evaluating vFoglight vs Veeam One - Newbie questions
Hi -
Im evaluating vFoglight vs Veeam One in our VMware environment, and I have a few questions I cant sort out.
- I need to view all datastores with a option for thin provisioning (How much is provisioned and how much is used/free). I could not find this option.
- Is there a way to view a top list of VMs with active snapshots?
- Is it possible to create department users in vFoglight (not administrators), that can monitor only the VMs I decide?
- What excactly is the difference between vOPS Standard and vFoglight (Enterprise version), and why should I have both?
Kind regards,
Bjørn-Tore

Hi Bjern-Tore
1.) Here is a link that will tell you how to do this: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/virtualization/infrastructure/b/storage-blog/archive/2012/03/28/thin-provisioning
2.) If you go to Reports, there is an Open Snapshot Report. This will tell you of your snapshots.
3.) Yes, there are many roles that can be set. You can link these roles to AD accounts. Under Homes, go to Administration, User and Security Management..
4) The difference is vOPS Server Standard is a virtual point solution, that can help with Capacity Mgt, Optimization/Automation, Chargeback. vFoglight Enterprise means you get vOPS, plus the functionality of vFoglight - extensive reporting, extensive dashboarding, deep performance analysis - vFoglight is more of an enterprise monitoring solution - you can also monitor Storage, AD, Exchange, Databases, Networks, physical servers, you can see inside the guest O/S. All through a single pane of glass.

Kevin
