Does the VMWarePerformance agent collect the CPU Utilization of each processor for VMs? (SR 2195132)
Hi All,
- SR: 2195132
- Customer: Array Services
- Environment:
Foglight for Virtualization 6.8 (V5.6.7 Foglight)
V5.6.7 VMWare cartridge
V5.6.7 Infrastructure Cartridge
- Issue/Question:
Does the VMWarePerformance agent collect the CPU Utilization of each processor?
I checked the following location for 3 VMs, and I only found the following metrics collected for each processor:
Hosts | All Hosts | | CPUs | Porcessors | | Detail
Percent System Time
Used Hz
My customer initially had IC agents set up to monitor some of his VM hosts that were also monitored by the VMwarePerformance agent. This was causing churn so I asked him to disable the CPU, Disk, Memory, and Network collections of the IC agents. After he disabled the collections he found that the per processors CPU Utilization was no longer available. This is a metric he needs. If this metric is not available from the VMWarePerformance agent then we will add the hosts to the user blacklist and re-enable the CPU, Disk, Memory, and Network collections of the IC agents.
Thank you,
Karen Smithwa

Utilization as a percentage is not captured. We grab used Hz and we could derived that per CPU via derived metric.
