Configure alarms for VMware Datastore latency in Foglight FREE version !!
Hi All,
I have downloaded foglight free version and I have imported the OVF in my test lab. I want that when a Datastore has a latency above 50ms then I should throw an alert.
I am unable to see the alarms section on the free foglight console.
Can you please suggest how do I go about achieving the same.
Thanks
Vaibhav

Hi Vaibhav,
The free version does not include a rule to check Datastore Latency. I checked with development and looks like a new rule has been added to Foglight for Virtualization Enterprise Edition 7.2 (to be released in the following months). The new rule is called: VMW Datastore Total Latency.
For the time being, I believe there is a datastore latency rule included in one of the community created cartridges. These cartridges are not created by Dell and are unsupported. Take a look of it and see if it addresses your request.

Note: if your Foglight does not have the option to install cartridges, chances are you are running the Standard Edition. If you have problems, please include full release number. You should find it in the about section.

Gaston.
