ViPR Services (ViPR Object and ViPR HDFS) are lightweight software deployed as multi-node virtual appliances on VMware ESX clusters. The number of ViPR services nodes increases proportionally to the attached storage. A ViPR Services "cluster" is simply a set of commodity servers, with no scaling limits
