Not deleting volume from ViPR. Any cleanup required?

Hi all,

Is there anyway where I could perform a cleanup after I've deleted the volume from ESX host or SAN storage and not through ViPR? Initially I have provisioned a ViPR volume and datastore through the catalog, but once I've deleted the associated datastore in ESXi and not through ViPR, I am still able to view the information in ViPR. Is there anyway I could perform a cleanup in this case?

I'm using a ViPR 2.0 controller with single node in this scenario.

Many thanks.

Hi,

From ViPR can you navigate to the service catalog and select the service to remove a volume.

Select the volume you deleted external to ViPR  and under the Deletion type please change this to Inventory Only.

This should be what you are looking for.

Thanks,

Dee

Hi,

Before I answer this can I get some further information:

  1. Have you tried to run a delete from inventory rather than a full delete on ViPR?
  2. Was the volume you deleted outside of ViPR part of an export group?

Thanks,

Dee

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your reply.

  1. Have you tried to run a delete from inventory rather than a full delete on ViPR?

--> Which inventory do you mean? No i don't think so. I've deleted the ESXi datastore which was provisioned from ViPR.

  1. Was the volume you deleted outside of ViPR part of an export group?

--> Yes, it is part of an export group.
