venue 8 pro wireless network connection issues

I am having issues connecting my venue 8 pro to a wireless network. anyone encountered similar issues/options to debug and fix it?

When I occasionally have had this issue, a deep discharge has fixed it:  with AC power not connected, hold the tablet's on button down for 30 or 60 seconds, including after the tablet has turned off;  leave the tablet off for 2 minutes; and restart.  Have been told by Dell Tech. Support that the cause is a build-up of static electricity, which the deep discharge relieves.
